Whilst a core of experience is required, this is a role that will provide training, mentoring and development from day 1! Our client is a leading multinational post-graduate education provider with many prestigious institutions across Europe, LATAM and China specialising in subjects ranging from fashion to medicine and dentistry.
Headquartered in Paris and having experienced a wave of organic growth and acquisition, the organisation is amidst a full development of its corporate and financing structure and is a consequence expanding its Luxembourg business to enable the production of all group financial information, reporting, treasury and accounting.
To work along side the lead accountant, we are mandated to indentify a proactive and engaged accounting professional to undertake a broad range of accounting activites.
This is a role that will offer visibility and strong long-term prospects to develop with the group's growing business activities.
Responsibilities: · Perform day-to-day accounting operations for multiple group entities.
· Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
· Handle general accounting tasks such as accounts payable/receivable, invoicing, and intercompany loan bookings, cash etc) via Concur, Expensify and Dynamics.
· Assist with the preparation of month end financial reports via the consolidation tool Tagetik.
· Analyse and explain monthly variances against respective budgets for group entities · Coordinate and collaborate with internal departments to ensure accurate and timely financial data.
· In collaboration with Head of accounting and HQ coordinate and support group audit.
· Stay updated with changes in accounting regulations and incorporate them into the company's accounting practices · Participate in monitoring of financing arrangements across the group particularly in consideration of compliance requirements.
· Act as a problem solver, proactively identifying and resolving accounting issues.
· Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders.
The Person: · Highly organized and detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy and precision.
· Possesses a proactive and positive mindset: able to work in a fast-paced and often complex environment, such as the ongoing ERP implementation and process restructuring.
· Having a positive and ‘can-do' attitude is crucial for maintaining a positive long-term relationship within the Group.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
· Capable of working independently and efficiently, with the ability to adapt to situations where close supervision may not be available.
· Self-driven – and autonomous work ethic initiatives is essential – willing to enhance processes and work-flows.
Qualifications: · Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
· Good relevant accounting experience, preferably in a multinational company.
· Experience with bookkeeping, loan transactions, and tax bookings.
· Familiarity with French accounting practices (French GAAP) either academically or in practice.
IFRS would also be advantageous.
· Proficiency in financial software and accounting systems.
· Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
· Advanced command in both French and English.
